Country Cookin’ Lunch / Prairie Museum tour

The restaurant is primarily a sandwich place but big enough to handle the group. People can order off the menu. (You can get lunch for $10.) It's in the block just west of the intersection of Burlington and 4th Ave. which seems to be the main streets of Holdrege).
People can socialize and have lunch before we caravan to the Prairie Museum at 2701 Burlington. The museum has a room in which we can have our meeting before touring the museum. Admission is free but a $5 donation per person is suggested. The museum is on the site of a WWII POW camp and that history is emphasized.
The museum asked that we park Hudsons in the grass around their circular drive. They asked us to send pictures of the Hudsons expected so they can publicize it as an "event” at the museum.
RSVP to Brent by September 8 at 402-781-2106, email: bn55537@windstream.net or return the post card.
Brent definitely needs to know if you will be bringing a Hudson. Once he knows the Hudson you are bringing, Brent said he will be able to provide the picture and send it to the museum. Please let him know ASAP.
In any event, he still needs an estimate of number expected to attend.

Southeastern Railway Museum

Admission/donation to the museum is $18 for adults, $15 for seniors over 65, $12 for children 2-12. We understand that admission includes one train ride, if the trains are operating. Additional train ride is $4.  Parking is free and we hope to have a good turnout of Hudsons.
In the museum you will see exhibits including trains, cars and trucks as well as railroad china, lanterns, uniforms and a model railroad. The collection continues to expand, so expect to see new items added since our last visit, including “Marco Polo” a special Pullman car which was used by many dignitaries, including President Franklin Roose-velt, and recently donated to the museum by Norfolk Southern Corporation.
Outside there are several locomotives, both diesel and steam, and railcars including passenger coaches, a self-propelled crane and a railway post office.
Lunch arrangements will be informal. There are picnic tables available outside the museum building, so we suggest that you bring your own lunch, or else plan to visit O4W Pizza or some other restaurant of your choice in nearby Duluth.

Directions to the museum: Take the Pleasant Hill Rd exit (Exit 104) off I-85 –this is approximately 6.5 miles northwest of where I-85 N crosses I-285.  Head north towards Duluth for 2.4 miles.  Merge right on to Buford Highway/US-23N/GA-13.  The Museum entrance is approximately 0.2 miles on the left. Take the road which crosses the railroad tracks.
