I am in the process of re-building a 33H 254ci engine and need a good camshaft, cam bearings  and a throw out bearing seal. Is the cam shaft compatible with any from 30 to 33 H ?

Thanks in advance, Tom.

Hudson numerical list indicates all cam bearings are the same for Hudson 8 and Terraplane 8, 1930, 31 32, 33 and T 8.

I seem to recall 1932 lifters were changet to shoe from rollers.  They advertized about 10 % more HP.

The hardning of cam lobes for friction with 3 inch radius lifter contact surfaces must have been reason why 1930 and 1931 H 8 cams are listed with same number 33040.

Have not found 33 H 8 cam # yet.
camshaft 43804 for 33 Terraplane, 1934-35  Hudson, may help.

From the 30-39 Master parts book. There is no interchange shown for it.If you have a cam that is worn you may try Delta Cam in Tacoma, WA.They can hard face and regrind your cam if they have the tooling

Lifters were not changed to solid until 1934. 8 cyl cams are the same for all '30-'33 H 8's, but in '34 they changed to gear drive, so cam rotated in opposite way. Lifters (roller type) are the same for Essex 6 and Terraplane 6 & 8, and H8 until 1933.
