Has anyone found any good solutions for a replacement 1934 H fuel sending unit?

I may have found the perfect fuel sending unit for my 1934 Hudson Deluxe.
RockAuto.com
IAP 113919049DEC
Fits 1968 -1978 VW Beetle. Fits right, seems to have the right Ohm range (and worked on the car gauge)
I had to drill a hole for the draw and change the wire end to the flat connection.

These folks make a nice reproduction with the integral fuel line already installed:

Hi Aaron,
Will this sender work on 6 Volts ?
I've tried several others on my '34 H8 but they haven't worked.
In desperation, I made a new float and arm for my original and it kind of works but won't register above 1/4 full.
Is your VW sender accurate ?

You can send your sender and gauge (very important to send both) to Bobs Speedometer in Michigan. They did a great job on mine and I’ll be sending my water level sender and gauge to them shortly. Be careful with them as they use a heater wire internally and are easily damaged if theyre hit was a full 6 volts

Yes, my 34 is all original and works from full to empty.

Aaron,
I don't quite understand your reply.
Are you now using the VW sender or the original 1934 one ?
As I said, I installed a new arm - cut to the same length and shape as the original - with a new plastic float in my 1934 unit.
It now kind of works but no matter how much fuel I put in the tank, the needle slowly climbs to 1/4 full and won't go any higher.
I don't understand why that is.
I've tried a couple of "universal" senders bought on eBay but they haven't worked at all !
Therefore, I was interested in your suggestion of a VW sender.
All the best,
David.

Sorry I was going to fast. My car - 34 Hudson D8 is all original, so it is a 6V with all original wiring. I am using this VW sending unit on the car and it appears to work well. When I tested it on the car, with the range it would travel in the tank, it went from full to empty. I really dont run it out of gas and I keep it from full to half tank and the sending unit reads correctly.

Hudsonly,
Aaron

Thanks Aaron,
My car is also 6 volt and is wired to original specification.
I have been embarassed by running out of gas on a couple of occasions and want a gauge that reads reasonably accurately.
On your recommendation, I'll get a VW sender.
As I'm in England, it shouldn't be too difficult to pick one up from the specialist early VW parts specialists.
The Railton Owners Club (I'm a member) has a very good stock of what I'd call essential parts that are most often needed but anything out of the ordinary for a 1934 Hudson is very difficult to find over here and the ROC puts out an interchange guide that lists some parts from unexpected sources !
Sadly, so far it doesn't list an alternative fuel sender - although I make make that addition if the VW sender works OK in my car.
My car is a Hudson 8 LTS Challenger. I bought it from the late Norris Smith who was a long time HET'er. I shipped it back to England and have restored it to its present state.
I believe it's the only LTS Brougham outside the USA.

Just found this post. What is the Ohm range of this sender? Is is 5 to 180? If so, then it will work on the 1929 system, but I suppose it may be different.

The 34/35 senders and gauges use a heater wire system, not a rheostat.  I sent both my gauge and sender to Bobs Speedometer in Howell, Mich for repair and calibration
