Hello all
I’m looking for a bit of help with grill to fenders gasket on my 1935 Hudson.
I need gaskets and the gentleman listed on the repo table has passed away. I contacted WRP to see if they offer it because I don’t see it listed on thier website.
The product they sent me a picture of looks different than a picture I found of a car with a piece showing.
Does someone know if the round exposed part solid or hollow on original?
Any help appreciated
Thanks

Jake, it is supposed to be hollow, and when installed, compresses the hollow bulb as needed to conform to the grill shell. the extra lip is how the '34 was. You can leave the extra tail on the piece, or simply trim it off before you install it. I think these were nailed in place. If the body finish is cleaned and the same for the rubber, using butyl tape will assist in installation and keep it in the correct place while you install the grill shell. You have to pull the butyl tape apart slightly to activate it, which makes it very sticky. We still use the same die Press Kale had made many years ago. I hope this helps, Thanks Doug

Hi Doug
Thanks very much for reply and info. Ya the fenders have rivets that would have held it in place but butyl would be good to I guess.

Sorry to bother but the picture your shop sent me appears to have a cut out of the flat part. So I'm wondering if that picture is of an off cut or is this how it comes? I have attached another picture I found that shows it with no cut outs.

Thanks Jake
