The Railton Owners Club is looking for a source for a set of pistons for the Hudson 8 cylinder engines. Can anyone recommend a supplier?

I know Dale Cooper @ Ace Auto Parts can help with these.

Thank you very much. I will pass Dale's contact information on to the Railton organization.

Another source for U.K. people - Austin Maxi 1500 pistons are an exact match.

Clark, that is very interesting. It would be interesting hear from you how you learned the Maxi 1500 pistons matched perfectly with the Railton's piston. Has anyone used then in a Railton engine?

Had a friend . now deceased., worked for a engine rebuilder. He had a Jet, and discovered the match. Jet pistons are exactly same as earlier 3" models, except 2 oz. lighter, and no split skirt. I don't know if anyone has used them in a Railton, which is after all just a Hudson engine! Only Maxi 1500 will do. 1750 are bigger.

I have been following this thread with interest. From this I gather the Jet piston and the 8 pistons are the same. I know the Jet engine is a redo of the 8 with some improvements. I will be hunting some pistons for my Jet soon. Thanks for the info. LHud

Dale Cooper has 3" pistons which will fit all models, including Step-down 8 and Jet. The Jet motor was I n fact a completely new motor, but they must have used the same boring equipment for the cylinders. Other than the pistons, there is no relationship to the former 8.
