I am picking up a 1931 Hudson Great Eight fully restored with 98% original parts that runs well. All interior is original vinyl, has both spare tires and matching trunk. It's even using the original carburetor. Parts that are not original would include small brackets for spare tire, toggle switch for dome light, windows, paint, tires/tubes and all the wood has been replaced.
What would be the going price for this car? It's won 1st in a car show as well. All restoration was documented with pictures of each stage. Car has 71K miles on it and has 2 owners.
Is this car in KY by chance?
No it is in TX. I've been doing some research on this car and I keep finding things on this car that doesn't seem to be standard on other Hudsons. For example this one has suicide doors and other than the wikipedia picture non of the other pics from this year have them. It's a 4 door sedan, Model T Series 2 Sedan. The spec sheet also states all 1931 hudson great eight come with wood wheels however this one has metal wheels.
This car was bought from the original owner. The owner took the whole car apart and put every screw in zip lock bags labelled. The 2nd owner took all the parts and put the car back together and added a paint job.
I can't tell what type of Sedan this car is nor if it was a Murray designed Club Sedan.
According to the 1931 brochure, you have either the:
"Standard Sedan", 119" wheelbase, looks like wd. spokes are standard so someone has either replaced with wire wheels, or it was originally available with a wire wheel option (and so ordered).
"Town Sedan", 119" wheelbase, similar body but shown in the catalog with wire wheels.
"Touring Sedan", 126" wheelbase, looks like wire spokes were standard.
"Family Sedan", 126", similar but had jump seats.
You can see this brochure in the on-line library at the H-E-T Club website, if you are registered there. All Club members can register for full website membership (all privileges), or non-members can register for partial website privileges, as "limited members". I don't know if partial registration gets you into the library section, though.
Going on the idea that putting it on ebay will tell you what it is worth you are well on your way to answering this question. I noticed today that you have quite a bit of activity but the price is not moving that fast. Anyway, good luck with the sale. We will all be excited to see how well it does.
