Have hudson 8 in a race car, need to know what year engine was built, has stamped number top front of block 2415477

What is the casting # on the crankcase near starter ?? also date code , same area.

If the 24 in front (and I say if) than it's a 1942 Commodore 8 engine. I can't remember if they included the model number when stamping serial numbers - I'm thinking they didn't. So Fred Pinders suggestion would probably be the answer.

The casting numbers are H81 162451 CWC

Translation= casting date August 8th 1941, That late probably installed in 1942.
