Welcome all Hudson Club members! If you are thinking of attending this year’s International meet please look into booking your Hotel reservations (Burlington Double Tree). The Host Hotel has filled the first 3 days reserved rooms. There are rooms available Wednesday 29th to Saturday 31st and beyond. There are other Hotels nearby with similar rates. Please see the Club site for information. If you choose to come earlier in the week you could stay at the Comfort Inn and move over to Double Tree (host) if desired. The Spirit Ethan Allen dinner boat cruise is filling fast. We've added another 60 places on the upper deck so if you wish to join us for that please register soon. Thank you to everyone who has registered. Aaron has made it simple and easy with the online registration. Check it out!

Jerre Hoffman

Dave, Carmen and I have been discussing it, looks like we'll have to cancel. We are working through the details and figuring out a refund plan for those who have registered. We feel that it would be irresponsible to host with the current C19 situation and it is with everyone's health and safety in mind. An official announcement will be forth coming. It’s a great disappointment to us all but "for the greater good" that is what it must be. We'll be working out ways to meet our club obligations (electing officers and what not) with electronic media. With 40% of our guest having to fly in and social distancing in effect make it hard to hold a banquet. So It is CANCELED
I was wondering when we will be receiving our refund. Checked my PayPal account and nothing yet.
This is the email I recently received from Dave Tuttle, HET treasurer: hope this helps....
Brenda, Now that we have the loan from the Club, I have setup all members that paid by check and downloaded each check sent by members. This has been validated against what each member signed up for at the meet and their check. As of Tuesday Wells Fargo is sending checks. The members that paid by credit card is more involved and Aaron is working with PayPal to resolve as soon as possible so that members will receive what they paid back to their credit card. Doing the process this way will help eliminate errors. Also by using Wells Fargo billpay there should be no cost for checks or postage. Wells Fargo notifies me of each check cashed as well as a copy of each check online. Please let me know if any concerns or questions.
Hey - I would be willing to donate $20 or $30 bucks to help offset the unrecoverable costs for the cancelled National Meet. I suppose the best way to do this would be to send them the money after I receive my refund. Not try to adjust the refund. Would someone post an address where I could send this? Thanks Mike Sheridan
Hey Mike, that is a thoughtful idea, and not to change your mind or contributions, but passing on information...
Dorian and Jacqui McCleary, HET Club store managers, personally decided to donate the t-shirts profits (up to the amount of New England Chapters loss) from the 'meet that never was' for the 2020 International, if you need a order form let me know. They have had a great response to the shirts, and as of a couple of weeks ago, have not yet heard from Dave Tuttle, HET Treasurer, the amount of the loss from cancellation of International meet.
Hello helpful Hudsonites We thank those of you who are considering donating a portion of you registration to The New England Chapter to help defray the cost of Cancelling. We really will not know what our losses will be until we get our deposit back from the Hotel all other deposits have been returned. We incurred cost for the design of the program and t shirts the Hotel could have kept the deposit but I got them to agree to $1000 one time charge to cover cost incurred planning this event. The post meet report will have a final breakdown of all cost and refunds. We are hoping with The club support and member generosity to "break even" The club store is being very supportive with sharing T shirt sales profits So order your T shirt NOW.
. We are seeing some Paypal refunds and those that paid by check should see their refund from Wells Fargo soon. Please check and verify amounts paid and received. Any donation to The New England Chapter to help defray above cost should be mailed to Kathy Brintnall Treasurer NEC, 622 Maple Brook Rd. Bellingham MA 02019
We want to Thank the club for all the support in these difficult times and we will be together again we just need to be patient.
Hudsonly Jerre Hoffman.
Thanks for the update. I will be more than happy to help with a contribution toward any loss your chapter might incur.
