Wanted to let everyone know that I finished scanning the Group 4 portion of the Experimental Group and posted to the Club Library. These binders contain drawings, and information about the research Hudson engineers did on Hudson engines. I had to break them up into six sections to make them reasonable downloads @20MB. A little smaller than the WTN magazine file size. I still have a couple of fold our sheets from this binder that I need to go down to Kinkos and have them scan. I hope to get the other two binders done before the end of April when I will be swinging by John O'Hallorans place.
Very interesting reading and a one of a kind set of information. Look under the Library, Club Library, Experimental Group, Group 4.
To download, click on the "download online material" under the thumbnail in the individual book record.
Let me know what you think!

All of the 3 binders have been scanned and are in the Club library. These binders are fascinating. If you have worked on Hudsons, you will find out what they had as the measurements for all kinds of dimensions. There are a couple of larger fold out pieces I need to scan as a mentioned below, but 99% of the binders are there. They are big downloads, but worth it.
If you find interesting things in them, post them here. It may peak others interest in the information.

WOW!!!! That stuff is awesome!!!! Handwritten sheets, long division, those Engineers had no idea they were designing NASCAR Champions!!! They just wanted to stay ahead of the Packards and Oldsmobiles. I like the balancing comparisons between all the "hot" models and the cylinder head compression ratio calculations. FUNNY, I didn't see any comparisons of any Ford or Chevy engine specs!!!!! Where would one find the engine/crank/head designations and what they may have been used in for production cars?? I am not very familiar with Hudson part numbers at this point. GREAT JOB, Aaron!!!!!!!
Thanks Bob. Actually these binders are some of the one of a kind information that our library has that no one ever sees because it cannot be lent out. There are some other binders from earlier in Hudson's history that hopefully I will be able to get scanned as well.
There are some comparison charts (larger than a page) they they had in the binders. I have them noted and I need to take them to some place that has a large bed scanner to get them scanned.

I just posted 10 larger diagrams that were in the binders. I had to go find a engineering scanner to get these done. While not flashy, they would make neat wall hangings. Most of the diagrams were 11 tall, some were four pages long. You can down load and take to a print shop and restore them to their original size. Take a look.
All very interesting info!!! They were certainly concerned with compression ratios and valve and cylinder head details. I am suprised that I didn't see any studies on the Twin-H and manifold designs, or the other 7X details and camshaft specs. There HAD to be a lot of work done in those areas.
Maybe I got my head where it ain't supposed to be, but I can't see how to open, or download, these documents.
Never mind - didn't work this morning - works now.
