The Mid-South chapter HET invites everyone to enjoy our southern hospitality as we host Central Region and other HET members at the ColdWater Inn, 712 Hwy 72 West, Tuscumbia, AL (www.coldwater-inn.com) June 6-8, 2013. We have reserved all 74 rooms so call 256-383-6844 to make your reservations now. Rooms are $75/night +tax and come with a free hot breakfast.
We plan to take you for a wonderful noon meal on Friday to the Rattlesnake Saloon ( http://rattlesnakesaloon.net ) which we are sure you will not want to miss. The hotel sits across the highway from the Alabama Music Hall of Fame (www.alamhof.org) which has now closed. RV parking is across the highway from the hotel as well.
The banquet on Saturday evening will be held nearby at the newly restored Roundhouse at the Tuscumbia Railway Museum.
Other attractions in the area are Ivy Green (the birthplace of Helen Keller), the "Father of the Blues" W.C. Handy Home and Museum, and the Rosenbaum House built by architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1939-40. And you may want to cap off one of your days with a meal at the 360 Grille which is a revolving restaurant atop the Marriott Renaissance Tower overlooking the beautiful Tennessee River. Or visit Wilson Dam on the Tennessee River where the lock lift is 94 ft. It is the highest single lift lock east of the Rocky Mountains.
When?
