Let's see, Small Wonder - 2017 would be in the Western Region and 2018 the Eastern - or is Chattanooga considered Eastern with the 2018 being back in the Central??? Have I got that right. Should be info out on 2017 already as it's been taking 2 or 3 years to set one of these up. I hope I'm wrong but it looks like it's getting so expensive so making regions hesitant to commit. I mean, it's gotten to the point where if I don't find a room share I ain't going. Rich man I ain't. This isn't the Cadillac or Lincoln club. I opted for a Wed arrival in French Lick leaving Sunday morning simply to keep the room cost down - and my room-share felt the same way.

Paul, Charlie Nau is working the Western Regional for 2017. I know he is trying to get a location nailed down. We know we are behind but we have had issues finding economical (notice I didnt say cheap) locations in the West in a destination spot that folks would want to attend and a chapter to volunteer to run. I have faith Charlie will get it done though.

Alex, 2018 would be Central since they just had the French Lick meet.

Yes, they Eastern Region is holding their National just inside of the Central Region. Since chapters sponsor and hold National Meets, the Chapter who volunteered to do the National Meet chose Chattanooga, TN as the site. There is nothing in the bylaws that restricts the National meet in the Region responsible for hosting. I am just thankful that we have chapters that are willing to host!

Yah, the North Texas Chapter hosted 2011 in Oklahoma City - within Big Country but outside the North Texas chapter, Oklahama City being in the Dust Bowl Chapter.
I can see this set-up. (Inter)nationals have gotten so huge an undertaking it makes sense for 2 or more chapter getting together and hosting.

[b]Yes, as of the BOD conference call, the California Inland Chapter was selected as the host chapter of the 2017 HET Club International Meet to be held at the Double Tree Golf Resort by Hilton in San Diego, CA, August 22-27, 2017, Room Rate is: $119. More details to follow. This is a beautiful location and while the timing of the meet is late in the year, it is difficult to secure good room rates earlier in the summer. The last time a meet was in Southern California was in 1981. It is about time to get back there![/b]

I was glad to hear San Diego was selected but dissapointed it's late in the summer. Kids Are back in school then, so we'll have scratch this one off like Colorado. Still looking forward to Chattanooga next year though.

I thought the Knott's Berry Farm National was in 1982.

1982 was in Buena Park according to the list of past meets shown under Club > Events here on the HET club web site..

Yep, we were there! That's where Knott's' Berry Farm is. Great meet, about 250+ Hudsons! Weather is great in San Diego in the summer----NO HOT AND HUMID!
