Proposed By-Laws change -- Question for Directors

Can any Club director help me on this?

The proposed bylaw change ("Article XV") consists of only two sentences and replaces a rather lengthy by-law which specified how the money should be banked, and how Senior Directors should verify that chapter members (in their region) are all paid-up members of the National club.

My question: The new, streamlined by-law no longer specifies that Senior directors have to make sure all chapter members are also H-E-T members, and it no longer specifies that deposit slips for banked dues, shall be sent to officials of the Club. Where, then, will these rules be stated?

Jon, the bylaws change has to do with the mailing activity and distribution of membership reports by the membership chair. So the mention of the Senior director is a reference to their duties not establishing them. So the by-law addresses the change in the responsibility of the membership chair - Charlotte no longer distributes any reports, the Directors can pull them at any time. There is also reference in the Chapter responsibilities regarding validation of chapter members being National members and the Senior Director's involvment. I think there may be a need to clearly articulate the Senior Directors responsibility in the Director's section of the by-laws. We have talked often about a clear listing of what we expect a director to do. This would definitely be something to put on that list.
