This is a scanned copy out of an original 1950 Hudson Pacemaker Series 500 manual. I do have some additional wiring diagrams with colors that were provided by YnZs if that is helpful to anyone.
Tim, that looks like the same diagram I posted a few days ago. It doesn't show the wire sizes.
I added them on the same postings?
Kerry,
I lost track of that. I will see if I can dig up the other stuff I had from YnZs as it says, or I could just look at them.
First off: Damn computer, almost had this typed out and then, Poof!
I checked my car and looked at the wires, and estimated what they are, but think I'm pretty much correct on these. If you went with 14 Ga in a few instances where I say 16, I think you're still ok.
OD Relay wires:
1. OD Relay to Kickdown Switch (Black and Yellow) 12 Ga.
2. OD Relay to Volt Reg (Bat terminal) Red, 12 Ga.
3. OD Relay to Solenoid (Black), 16 Ga.
4. OD Relay to Voltage Regulator (Arm terminal), White with black tracer, 14 Ga.
Kickdown Switch wires:
1. To OD Relay already described
2. KD Switch to solenoid, green 16 ga
3. KD Switch to OD Control Switch (tranny area), blue, 16 ga.
4. KD Switch to Ignition COil (and on to Distributor), black, 14 Ga.
Other wire to Governor switch is pretty small gauge, 16, and was red. Pretty sure, but didn't get underneath to look.
The distributor wires were missing from my stuff (the guy that received it for me from YnZs lost it or kept it for himself).
I did all the wiring myself and it was pretty easy. you have to rebuilt the two plastic switches to the OD Relay and the KD Switch. You have to reuse the connectors after you remove them from the plastic housing of those connectors. Let me know if you need help. My OD has worked fine ever since it was installed. I drove it yesterday, no problems.
Hope this helps! Tim
Kerry,
What I meant about the distributor wires mentioned above is that they may just use 16 Ga, but I used 14 Ga (black/yellow tracer). That's because I bought a bunch of that from YnZs to do my fog lamp wiring, and a few other accessories I had on the car. It all works fine.
