I'm in the process of assembling the steering wheel - horn button and have a question - the horn button goes down into the wheel recess and locks in place. This leaves the unpainted edge on the outside of the horn button recess un-painted. This is a picture of the steering wheel when I unpacked it. Is that edge to be polished up or painted?

I took mine apart recently. As far as I know it is original and it doesn't appear to have ever been painted.

Bill, I cleaned that area, assembled everything and installed it.
