Looking for original factory interior colors available for a 52 Hornet convertible.
Thanks,

Most convertibles, especially the senior cars had leather interiors. Were you looking to going with leather or cloth?
Have leather now, but just wondering what colors were available in 52 for the convertible interiors, as I may redo it at some time.
Thanks,
Dave
1952 was a very odd year for interiors and Hudsons. Dark Red leather was available, as was two-tone gray and red and two tone gray and blue. Also, there were some early '52 'verts that had carry-over interiors from '51. There were also 3 different styles available in '52 (the '51 carry-overs being one of them). As far as the cloth colors go, the standard brown stripe pattern and the standard blue stripe patterns were available.
Keep in mind that nearly all convertibles (senior cars even more so) had leather interiors, even though technically, it was an "option".
Thanks for the information, and I have a Texas Tan outside with a brown or tan colored leather interior. Looks great with the exterior color, but just wondered if that was a factory color for the interior. The red or gray interiors would not look good with the Texas Tan exterior.
David-
That was certainly an oddity about the stepdown years. You could actually have a green exterior with a blue interior, or a blue exterior and a brown interior, or many other odd combinations.
As Russel says there were many variations in the step-down years. Customers could, quite literally, go to a dealer and tell him what he would like and the factory would say "Ok, we'll give you a blue car with pink polka dots and a pink interior, if that's what you want!!" Well, maybe not that extreme. maybe, but you get the idea. So if you want a certain look, such as the one Russell is contemplating, who, at this late date, is going to nit-pick.
The point is you could order, thru the dealer or even thru the factory, what you wanted and you'd probably get it.

And note that while we refer to "leather interiors," only the seat cushions (seat and back) were leather. The rest was good quality vinyl.
