Hello,
Anyone with experience or knowledge of someone who can repair wind up clocks. I have a nice one in my 49 coupe that works intermittently and would really like to have it repaired. I have found a seller with similar 6v clocks who accepts wind ups as cores, but I would like to keep the one I have.
Thanks!
Andy

Andy, some years ago I got good service and nice work from Clockworks, in Wisconsin. www.clockwks.com.
The mechanical part of the Borg electric clock in my '53 Hornet was worn beyond repair. I bought a wall clock with a quartz battery movement, cut out the back of the original housing and mounted this in it, trimmed the hands to suit the diameter of the hole in the housing, and it looks quite good in there. Okay, I have to replace the battery once a year, and if a nit picker looks he can see that the hands are black instead of the original plastic ones, and it flips every second, but hey, it works, and I can always put an original one back in if I ever find one. And it is certainly better than the straight mechanical ones fitted in the Pacemakers, which only went for a few days anyway.

I would expect that anyone with a clock shop would be able to help you out. There is a gentleman in my city that took mine and cleaned and adjusted the clock (1954) and it now works fine. He told me that the clock is quite simple and often all they need is a cleaning. He said that there are no parts available so if something major is broken he could not do anything. He charged me 50 bucks.
