I have 1946 Hudson truck with original 212 engine with Carter WDO 501s. Truck idles well, however when I drive it around the block, it sputters a little in 1st, and then stalls at stop signs, but restarts. Carburetor has been rebuilt by reputable Hudson company, no intake leaks, idle screws adjusted per shop manual, distributor vacuum advance working as it should. Valves have been adjusted per shop manual. Electric fuel pump is at 4PSI. I have read on other threads where it may need float adjustment. Any ideas? Thank you, Kevin Morrow
Does it stall when driving straight or just when you turn or stop?

Only when I stop. Thank you for your response
Suggest you check the float to see if at the correct level and binding. The stopping force might cause the float pin lever (or whatever it's called) to bind with the carb. Whatever the cause, it's probably something very simple
