Hello fellow members, I have just joined this club as I recently purchased what I believe is a 1935 Hudson Terraplane flathead 6 cylinder. Wondering if someone can send me a picture of an engine from this model year indicating where the engine serial number is? Is it stamped on the engine block or a plate that's fastened with screws? I have 4 sets of numbers on the drivers side of the engine block, 2 sets are from when block was cast, they are 32035 towards front of engine, 44600 with a large Ho underneath numbers at rear of engine, there's a raised circle at very rear of engine with 6 numbers stamped on it, and finally there is a rectangular brass plate held with 4 screws slightly below the Ho labeled with Reference No followed by 4 numbers (this plate appears to be a rebuild plate from General Automotive Supply Co. Ltd. ?)
I have a 1935 engine; number is stamped not cast.
drivers' SIDE of block, at the front, up very near top of block, just below cyl head.
Send mr your numbers and i may be able to tell vehicle model.

Perhaps the Canadian numbers are different.
Gary Lynch might have Canadian numbers.
One other thought, the distributer , generator and starter each can be interchangeable BUT have unique numbers by year and sometimes by model.
we could try to check those too.
