I am adding front fender ornaments on my 1949 Hudson Super Six.  These are the chrome spears that sit on top of the front fenders.  I am seeking help in correctly locating these on the fender tops since my fenders don't currently have the ornament mounting holes.  The dimensions I need are shown in the attached photos and listed below.

Dimensions A, B, and C are measurements for a mounted ornament:

Dimension A - Distance from the front edge of the fender to the front edge of the spear

Dimension B - Perpendicular distance from the fender mounting edge to the spear centerline at the very front edge of the spear

Dimension C - Perpendicular distance from the fender mounting edge to the spear centerline at the very rear edge of the spear
Dimensions D, E, and F are measurements for an unmounted ornament

Dimension D - Distance from the front edge of the fender the the front mounting hole

Dimension E - Perpendicular distance from the fender mounting edge to the front mounting hole

Dimension F - Perpendicular distance from the fender mounting edge to the rear mounting hole

Front and rear hole dimensions
I really appreciate any help you can provide.  Thanks!

I am renewing this forum topic to see if anyone has any input on the location of the front fender top spears on a 48-49 Hudson.  If you have a car with these ornaments or a fender with the the mounting holes and you are within a couple hundred miles of Rochester, NY, I'd be happy to come to you and make the measurements.  I believe this style ornament was only used on 48-49. Any help is very much appreciated!

Gary, this forum doesn't get a lot of attention. Did you try looking through the roster? Probably get a quicker answer if you find somebody near you and call them.

Hi Steve,

I appreciate the response.  Your suggestion is exactly what I did recently and got the information I needed.  Our fellow Hudson owner was very accommodating and helpful.  Thank you!

Gary
