I just installed a Al Saffrahn rebuilt Borg Warner R10 overdrive in my 1946 Hudson truck. I have new relay, wiring harness, governor, and stepdown switch, however the new 12 volt solenoids have been back ordered for 7 months by every one out there to include 5th Avenue Garage. The 12 volt solenoids have 2 terminals, but I have seen Studebaker 12 volt solenoids on the internet that have 3 terminals. Is this solenoid acceptable to use? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Kevin Morrow 302ninefourthree8197

I have an overdrive in my 46 pickup. When I changed it over to 12 volts I used a solenoid from a Ford 12 volt overdrive. I tried one from a GM but the throw was shorter. The Ford was the same length as the 6 volt Hudson. You can check the throw with a jumper wire and a battery.
