I am rebuilding a spare engine for my 1936 Terraplane. When I took it apart some of the pinned pistons had the slit toward the valves and some of the slits were away from the valves. What is the correct position for the pistons?

I remember this way!
Oil dippers face the Camshaft side of the engine.
T-slots face away from camshaft.
