Does anyone know where I can buy a hub puller for an early Hudson? My hub is 2 3/4" outside diameter.

I found one for my Essex on Ebay from a person who cleaned out a garage and painstakingly identified each item. Before getting my own, I borrowed one from a friend in the club. I don't know of anywhere that sells these in volume off the shelf.

These pop up on Ebay from time to time, for different makes and years.  For example, there are several of that type on Ebay right now (though none may necessarily be the right one for you):  By the way, you should specify your year.  I assume you have a Hudson, not an Essex.

Go to Ebay Motors and type Hudson Hub Puller.  (Sorry, I don't seem to be able to provide you with a direct link to any of the hub pullers.)

Here is one that was being sold on the AACA web forum, several months ago:   https://forums.aaca.org/topic/319704-hub-puller-hudson-1920-1929-essex-1927-1929/

You might want to check the AACA "parts for sale" forum from time to time  https://forums.aaca.org/forum/145-parts-for-sale/   and maybe even list the puller in their "Parts Wanted" forum.  (You have to sign up, but it's free.)

Hi Jon, thanks for the reply. I'm looking for a 1911 Hudson hub puller, I have one for the later Essex/Hudson hubs, tried doing it without a puller but its pressed in there pretty good. l don't want to damage anything. Thanks will keep looking.

George

I guess my only advice would be to contact fellow 1911 owners (which you can find listed in the printed or on-line roster of the H-E-T) and ask them what they use to remove their hubs.  Possibly there's a way to adapt or use a puller that's more readily available.  Or, if the owner is located near you, he might be willing to loan you his hub puller.
