Does anyone have recommendations or guidelines on how to remove the chrome trim on a 1953 Hudson hornet specifically around the doors and the windows I don’t see any screws to attach it in there does not seem to be any literature on how to do this either. Thanks much.

Jeff ---'53 Hornets have several different stainless pieces around the windows. It would be helpful to post pictures of the pieces you are trying to remove.

If you are referring to the squared narrow pieces along the very edge of the window openings, these pieces have small center SS retainer clips (approximately 1" long) that must first be pried off (working gingerly little by little along the edge of the clip) with a small flat blade (a flathead screwdriver will work with a small cardboard coupon protecting the paint as you pry up and snap it off). The gap space created once the retainer clip is removed now affords room to move the corners of the stainless trim inwards and away from the edge (preferably using strong fingers or a flat plastic body-filler spreader). I sprayed plenty of soapy water and degreaser onto the trim and the paint behind it while pressing down/up and inwards on the trim away from the edges. Let it soak for awhile. Start on one end of the square next to the gap and work out towards the corner. Be careful not to bend these pieces. Easy does it,,,, And don't lose those small SS retainer clips---replacements are extinct.

The body service manual on this site might be helpful.
