Already posted in the WTB section, but thoight I would check with you all. Does anyone have a hood (50 C6) for sale that doesn't have the front rusted out?
Barring that, is there a source for patch panels for same?
Thanks

I think I have an NOS hood for this. I am located in North Fl, close to the I-75 and I-10 cross.
I'll check the number to make sure.
(ok, just checked and it is marked HB7 which would translate to a B=1952 and 7= Hornet)
I think they are the same as earlier ones except for the hood ornament hole. ?
I do have an NOS drivers side front fender for 48-49-50 lwb models.

I have fixed a few of these hoods. The only way to do it right is to drill out the spot welds on the front inner brace so that you can take it off, blast and prep it while off you can fix and prep the inside of the hood covered by the brace. Spot weld the brace back in place when all repairs are made.
Dirt and what not gets caught in that area and get moist, causing the hood front to rust out.

This is what I need to repair if I don't just replace the whole part.

That's about as bad as I've ever seen. Al Saffrahn in Maricopa, Az. will probably have one.
