Is there a database or website where I can plug in my vehicle's VIN and find out historical info? I would like to find out more about my 1951 Commodore's beginnings, I also would like to get some general info on the numbers made that year, etc.

Tony,
On the club website site got to the home page and click on MEMBER.  The menu will give you the option to FIND A VEHICLE or you can go to the Registry and select 1951 HUDSON.  Another option is to look in the November/December 2021 White Triangle News and turn to page 36, it lists Charlie Woodruff as the contact for 1951 Hudsons.  You can send him an email at cbwoodruff@hotmail.com.  The information that is listed in the Club Database and in The Registry is only as accurate as the information provided.  If none of the previous owners shared their information then not much can be found, however if the previous owner(s) shared information with the club then you may be able to find some information.  There are no Hudson factory records, they all went to the dump when the Hudson and Nash merger took place in1954.

Thank you John, great information! Darn shame that the records were discarded.

The DMV can be of help too. If you know where your car was bought new that could help. If not you would have to trace it back through the dmv records

Thanks Victor, good idea! Just curious as to how cooperative DMV in different states will be. Will they release past owners names and contact info?
