I have (4) wire wheel hubcaps with only 2 of the center caps. The former owner said the center caps are easily lost on the highway.
I’m considering putting on these single piece hubcaps on until I can find center caps for the wire wheel hubcaps.
Before I start carefully prying off the wire wheel hubcaps, are there any tricks to avoid damaging them.
Does anyone make reproduction hubcaps for the 54 Hudson Hornet? Thanks
Don’t try prying them off. They are bolted on with the lug bolts. Pop out the center cap remove the three lugs that hold the cap on.You don’t have to remove all of the lugs a couple have larger holes so the cap fits over them. I’ve never heard of these type caps flying off.
I don't typically run with the center caps on my rear two tires. They rears are not at all visible with the fender skirts on.
But also what Ed said. The center portion of the caps will pop off as they are held on with clips. The base isn't going anywhere until you remove three lugs.
