I am looking for coil to use for conversion to 12v. What coil is suitable for a 1947 Hudson super now running on 12v?

use the one you have. the 6 volt one. Go to a local parts store and get a resistor for a late 50s or early 6os Chev. or Morpar. cut the feed wire to the coil, mount the resistor to firewall or motor, put ends on the ends of the wires you cut and attach to resistor. All finished , and no new coil needed.

Why wouldn't you want to use a HOTTER coil if you have 12 Volts. Go to JEGS or Summit. Get oil filled one with secondary around 50,000 volts. Don't go any higher without better ign. wires or iridium spark plugs. Should be around 30-40$
