Does anyone happen to know the approximate weight of a Big Boy's bed (all metal, no wood)? Can 2 dudes remove it from the rails and place it on work pallets or are 4 dudes absolutely required (yep, trying to keep the cost of the Six Packs down)? I've never handled one but reckon the bed without the tailgate weighs no more than 275 -300 lbs. Am I way off? All feedback welcome. Thank you.

You can also use an engine hoist and ratchet straps to lift the bed off.

Kenneth---Thanks for the hoist and ratchet strap idea. Do you think the 300lb guess is about right?

For these old narrow beds with stake pockets, 300 pounds or less is in the ball park,

Couldn't tell you the weight, but the figures quoted sound about right. I lifted mine off with an engine hoist on my own and was able to save the six packs for myself:)

Without fenders, bed wood and hardware, I weighed it at 221 lbs..  I hope that helps.  Perfect timing, mine is on the way for body and paint.
