54 hornet 308 points won't fire. New everything ...ideas?
I just moved your topic about 308 ignition points, to the "Hudson" category, where I think it will attract more of a response.
You had posted it under "Club and Forum -- Suggestions and Comments", which is more concerned with operation of the Forum and the H-E-T Club.
Please clarify, is there NO spark at the coil, or are you saying it will not start and run? There are many scenarios .....it is possible to have a hot spark at the coil, but no spark at the plugs. It is possible for the engine to not fire and run even with a good spark at the plugs. I did see that you say new everything.....I presume this means the cap, rotor, points, condenser, plug wires and plugs, along with a new coil? If there is no spark at the coil, then perhaps you grounded out the points or the primary wire inside the distributor. Also, I have seen people install the points without the spring's hook tab connected correctly, thus no spring tension on the breaker arm. Today's aftermarket condensers, especially the ones from the land of the Commie China Virus propagators, are notorious for being bad right out of the box.Give us a little more background on this Hornet's engine. Was it recently rebuilt? Or is a being brought back to life after a long slumber? No compression = NO fire, even with a perfect ignition. Ditto for bad carburetor(s), bad ignition timing, bad valve timing....
Is the rotor turning when the engine is cranked over?.
Yes it s electrical issue .....
found some bad wires
