Hello Hudsoners,
The fuel pump on my 1936 Terraplane 6 has gone out so I am looking for a decent rebuilt one.  The numbers are AC 1521540, model R, the "exchange" according to the manual is 459.
The old pump looks like it was from a Chev 1937-40, #1523089 but the car ran for years with it.  But that's all I have for an exchange.

Thanks fro any help out there!
John

Dave Kostansek advertises in the  WTN 32-47 fuel pumps rebuilt for $90 exchange or $105 outright  if you don"t have a good core. His ph# is 440-293-4079.  I have a 36 Terraplane also! Hope your enjoying yours as much as I enjoy mine!     Dan

John, I can rebuild your pump with a diaphram that won't swell up.

Gentlemen, thank you very much!  However, in the meantime, I found one on ebay which should get here in the next couple days.  I'll follow your leads if it doesn't work, although it is supposed to be rebuilt.  The problem with rebuilding the pump that stopped working, is that it was from a 37 Chev - as I found out when trying to match the part numbers.  Some previous owner had made use of whatever was on hand, it seems.

Question about rebuilding the fuel pump. If it stopped working, is it necessary to completely rebuild it or just replace the diaphragm ?
Thanks

You have to be careful with rebuilt fuel pumps on ebay. Some are not fresh rebuilts. If you read in the description some have been rebuilt many years ago and may have dried up seals and diaphragms. Or may have not been rebuilt with ethanol resistant parts, Just make sure what you are getting,

Thanks, Dan.  I'll be careful.  May have to have it rebuilt again, we'll see.
