I am getting ready to paint my 1951 Hornet project. Does anyone have a paint match for the color Toro Red? I have the ditzler color sheet from 1951 showing the color chips, however it is difficult to get a match from such a small color chip. Unfortunately, ppg cannot reproduce the paint colors from their archives due to changes in the mixing materials. I was hoping someone may have had this color scanned at their paint supplier and can furnish a mixable paint code.

Thank you,
Mark V

See if this works, It is recent PPG Deltron paint code in basecoat.

Thank you for the quick reply. I will check with my ppg supplier- I'm pretty sure they can work from this. Thanks again.

If for some reason your supplier won't do this, mine will. They can ship the paint to you and you can buy the reducer, hardener and clear from your local guys.
Also, I highly recommend using epoxy primers and urathane blocking primers. A great paint job starts with a great foundation.

Received your pm. My email is lecmvillano@yahoo.com cell 330-502-4463. Am curious as to how you matched the color? Scan of an original color?
Thanks
