A friend of mine has offered me a distributor cap which he thinks will fit my '51 Hornet engine. It's an AL-132. Does anyone know if this is the correct replacement cap? Thanks.
If your 1951 car has the original Auto-Lite IAT-4009B distributor, an AL-106 cap will fit. The AL-132 will likely not.
The AL-106 is common:

If your car is using another model of distributor than a IAT-4009 series, then maybe.

Thanks for the replies. There is no indication of the manufacturers as far as I can see, but on the inside it says IAT-1003. I guess with caps like this if it fits, it works, if not it doesn't. Or is it more complicated?
[sub][/sub]IAT 1003 is an original Autolite cap for a 1950 Pacemaker, AL 132 is the Standard (SMP) part number.
Thanks to all for your input.
