Mitchell makes overdrive units for Model A Fords. Does anyone know if they make units for open drive shaft cars ? Are there any club
members who have installed a Mitchell or similar overdrive in a '30's Hudson ? If possible, the unit might have to be installed mid-frame
with a split drive shaft ??

Bill, like anything, you have to be able to improvise when installing one of these units. THE ROC had some rear end gears made several years ago that really helped, but they were all sold. Ivan Z. also had another run of them made, which I think were all sold as well. I think they made them 3.5 to 1 . That ratio works well.
