I bought a 1955 Hudson that has a rebuilt 308 6 cylinder engine. However they did not replace the oil pressure switch. Can anyone tell me where the oil pressure switch is located. I expect that it is on the left hand side of the engine. There are three possible locations as noted in the attachments Can anyone tell me which outlet, A,B, or C, is the correct one?
Thanks, Jim Hickey
The port for the oil pressure sender switch is on the right side of the block between the valve covers. It's hidden behind the section of the exhaust manifold where nthe exhaust pipe hooks up. Hudson used a 45 degree fitting into the block with a small pipe coupling and a short, 3" long nipple. The switch went into the end of this series of fittings and stuck out towards the front of the engine at a 45 deg angle, sort of aiming at the right headlight.
Thanks for the reply. However I believe that you have given me the location for a V8 Engine. There are no valve covers on the straight six cylinder
Suggest you follow Steves advice. Last time I looked at my Hornet engine, valve covers were on the right side of the engine below the manifolds.

Remember, of course this is not an overhead valve engine, but it does have valve covers, two located under the exhaust manifold. You have to remove these covers to adjust or work on the valves.
Thanks so very much, I found it
You would have to a contortionist to remove the valve covers on a '55!
