RHD Gear Shift Linkage

I'm trying to get the gear linkage cobbled together on my '51 Pacemaker, but seem to have a missing 'pivot' point for the gear shift linkage.

It's a RHD 3-speed manual and I can't figure out what the linkage pivots from.

Is there anyone here on the forum with a right hand drive manual gearbox step-down? I'm hoping someone here can show me a picture of what this pivot point bolts up to. Looks like it should be a plate with a bushing attached to the firewall but I can't seem to find any such part lying around in the box of bits I have here.... The relevant 'free floating' pivot point is circled in pink below:

Thanks Alistair - that looks like it bolts directly to the firewall with a flat steel bar that braces the mounting bolt running down to the inside of a front frame rail perhaps.

Looks like I found the reinforced plate that linkage pivot bolts onto - and I now have it all secure and changing gears, at least forward gears!

The reverse gear thing appears to be a cable operated jobbie, which will need a damn good clean up and then finding the part that goes into the side of the gearbox....

Thanks again Alistair - I see the logic of the flat bar now, stabilises and therefore takes the flex out of that section of the linkage. Looks like they dropped that idea in the Australian-delivered '51 models like mine in favour of a ribbed plate for the top pivot. Not sure it's an improvement however!

Would you mind explaining the column positions for the manual gears for me? e.g. Is first gear towards me and up? Second away and down, etc? I'm still in the process of freeing up the cable and back-forth movement of the hand lever so I can't test it yet.

Happy to help
Towards you and up = Reverse
Down = first
Away and up = second
Down = top (third)
Good luck with your project.
