Hello Folks! I'm looking for someone who repairs these old radios. Can someone give me a link or a lead? I'd like to have some noise besides my exhaust if I can travel to Hershey this October. Thanks in advance!

Nice option, a bit pricey for this guy!

Where are you located?

Some of our forum members may live in the same area and be able to recommend a local radio restorer. There are people who do this all over the country but it's helpful if they're in your backyard!

I see that there's an antique car radio repair place up in Liverpool, but I can't attest to their quality of work. Maybe someone has ued them and can offer a review.

Old parts is costin' a fella a bunch of new money no matter where he turns! Dropped it off at a local shop today, cost me $75 just to have it looked at! I may have been better off tossin in an old Sparkomatic and a voltage converter! The price of an all original dash... (Heavy sigh)

As a rule, the paper and electrolytic capacitors will need to be replaced. I always check the resistors as well as they may have drifted out of spec. Tube replacement as well as checking the sockets for issues is next.

The radio manual/fact sheet provides all of the tuning alignment specifications.

You’ll need some basic electronic tools and a VTVM for the basic stuff. A signal generator for the tuning alignment. It’s not difficult work but tedious

I sent the radio in my 39 to Steve Engel out in California. Cost me about $30 to ship it and $300 for restoration but its done right and works great for an 81 year old radio. If you want I will put you in touch with him

I belong to the Alabama Historical Radio Society. 90% of our repairs are tube radios with me repairing Hudson radios. I see you pictured a 54 Hudson radio. You need to contact me. Covid has us shut down now but I could repair your radios if mailed to me. I recently repaired a man's Hudson radio from Australia. So I guess I am worldwide now. I am the guy from Australia that Jerome repaired the radio for. I can vouch for his work.

Cheers
