Can anyone post some pictures of the 1950 Commodore Six Interiors so I can be sure how my car should be restored? Specifically right now, I'm concerned about the dash and garnish moldings. They are leather grain, and I can redo that myself, but I'm not sure about the correct colors. I think that the 1950 Commodores came in a nylon striped upholstery in two basic color sets: tan/brown, and blue/gray. My car is the blue/gray. Some of the garnish moldings that weren't rusty appeared to be dark leather pattern on a gray base coat. But maybe they were supposed all be the brown leather grain appearance?
This coupe was the Bali Blue color, and I think I'll take it back to that eventually. Mainly trying to inventory parts, etc. that I'll need for it. It is a late 1950 model -- the last of the small back window coupes.
One of my favorite stepdown models. I like the interior trim better then 48-9.
I would think that not many were painted Bali Blue even though that was a factory color that year. Is yours a good solid car?
Kerry,
Actually, it seems to be. Missing a few parts. Right now, it seems the worst rust is the hood. As far as I can tell, floors, etc are pretty solid. I originally thought the car was just rusty junk, but I couldn't get at it to look at it since it was shoved under a large bush and there were wasps galore everywhere.
