Has anyone fitted one of the replacement floor pans from Classic 2 Current in their Stepdown? My trunk has some rot that I need to deal with before I can install the new fuel tank as the bad spots are under the fuel tank supports where the carriage bolts are. I also have some rot in the passenger corner where the trunk steps down. I am in something of a conundrum, I can either cut up the patch panel to replace the pieces that I need specifically or I can try to get the whole trunk pan panel in. The main issues the the second plan is that the beads on the patch panel are nowhere near as deep as the original and the corners of the sill where the trunk steps down from the front to back will need some major fitting as the bends and layout isn’t very close. Where the original walls were nearly vertical. The patch panel ones are almost flat. So I (or the body shop if I was smart and wanted it done right the first time) would have to cut the patch panels and figure out how to get them FAR closer to where they belong so it will all fit and look reasonably close to correct. Has anyone else had any experience installing one of these and have any pointers?
Thanks
Colin
Classic 2 Current parts are cheaply made, low quality products, NOT recommended.
I am inclined to agree with that statement.
Not knowing any better, I installed these in my 50 Pacemaker and yes they required a lot of reworking to get them to fit.
