I recently came to own a 1936 Hudson Terraplane. It is a six cylinder convertible and I believe that it is a model 61. I would like to know if there
is a registry or way for me to learn how many of these still exist. It seems to me that the convertible must be pretty rare. I don't expect that there
is an exact count but I'm thinking that you guys here must have some idea?
Mike.
Here is the 1936 registry: https://www.hetclub.org/index.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/report/instance/115&reset=1&Itemid=707
Of course, the registry only reflects the cars whose owners have been members of the Club, or have bothered to contact the registry over the year and given their cars information. There might be dozens of cars "out there" whose owners have never bothered to register them with the Club.
You might also want to contact the registry keeper to see if he has any further information that would answer your question. that would be Jacob Kiel, XXXjacobakiel@yahoo.com (delete XXX before sending).
I think the 1936 Terraplane convertible is quite rare but I don't have the numbers to prove it. I know that -- between Hudsons and Terrapalnes, the 1937 convertible count is over 25 cars, but I think the 1936 totals are much smaller.
