How do you fix '46/'47 Commodore door handles that slant upward?

Im looking for a solution to this as well. My handles were getting stuck in the down position on my 46 pickup. Going through the manual, I was able to resolve that by cleaning and oiling, but now they both land pointing up a bit, out of line with the door trim. I've tried all of the set screws and a few other things so far, but nothing is working.

I am going to keep trying at it and if I figure out a fix, will definitely report it back here. I'm pretty sure it will be similar if not the same between a 46/47 commodore and pickup.

Droopy handles on the 46 -7 Supers may be due to bad internal handle springs. If you need some, let me know I have those.

Through some conversations with other folks in the club, it seems like a good bet is the door handle springs may be reversed. I haven’t taken mine apart to verify but it makes sense to me that this could cause that. Just wanted to share in case it could help you out.

Gus Souza told Steve yesterday you can't take them apart...he should just find new ones. Let us know if that works for you though
