I need to purchase four tires for my 1940 Traveler.
I need 600 16 and / or 650 16 Tires.
Is there a supplier other than the super expensive Coker company for tires?
I purchased a set from Universal. However, the price was similar to Coker. Coker was offering free shipping on orders last week. Check on line and see if that still holds. Save $124.
If you are wanting what is out there go to Google, or ask experience of purchase.
here is Lucas Tires--never purchased anything from them.

I bought my tires 650 x16 for my 39 from Lucas. Very please with the price and quality
Is that Lucas oil? Do you have a website or phone number for Lucas, please?
Found the Lucas website.
If this is radial tires, then I very interested.
650-16 Goodyear Deluxe All Weather 4" Whitewall
$250.00
these are bias ply tires.
The Goodyear deluxe all-weather is a bias-ply tire, not a radial. However, it is very authentic-looking to the era, with its diamond tread.

I bought a set years ago for my '37 Terraplane and was very happy with them. I did opt for the 650 x 16 instead of the 600 x 16 which was specified for my car. I felt that the wider tire gave me a better ride with more control. When I turned my wheel all the way to right or left, it rubbed on the drag link but this caused me no problems.
I eventually replaced that set with a set of radials from Coker, which are now on the car. You may also want to look into Diamondback radials, if indeed radials are what you desire. I would say they have improved my ride (over the oversized bias ply tires), especially on "trucker's ruts" on the Interstates, and other unevenness in pavements. And with an independent suspension such as in the 1940 Hudson, you may notice better performance than I have with my 1937's solid front axle.
