I think I know where this could end up but I'll ask anyway. Recently my clutch has started to slip (53 Hornet, twin-H, overdrive). It seems to be getting worse very quickly. I have adjusted the clutch linkage to be sure there's enough free play and have changed the clutch fluid, but no improvement. Is there anything else I can try before the dreaded wallet buster.
In the worst case I'll buy a new clutch plate and pressure plate from Wildrick or Fellows but I don't have facilities to get the transmission and clutch out and I'm not sure I have the skill to get it all back together right. If I do have to go this route does anyone know of a mechanic in New England (preferably in the seacoast area of New Hampshire or southern Maine) that has experience with Hudson clutches?
Hudsonly,

Ed the point of the HET Club is to provide the basic infrastructure to assure the members have a reliable group of folks who in their total will be the support needed at the time a member needs to preform maintenance or service on their vehicles. I know from experience that going it alone is a daunting task and many times beyond the capability of that single member. Being on this board makes you an HET Club member. Possibly also a chapter member. My first action would be to call up the tech support person in your chapter.... if none is listed... call your president and ask for membership assistance... then move on to the closest national members. There is a wealth of support in New England if I were there... this is what I would do. With this support ... your diagnosis becomes more focused and the outcome is one that will build your chapter and definitely knowledge of where and how to complete tasks in your area.
Ken,
Thank you for your response and suggestions. I will contact the local section and see what ideas they have.
