Hey all, trying to locate the serial number stamped on a 1946 pickup engine. I know the general location, but there are also several other numbers, so I am not 100% sure which one it is. I've attached a photo of the numbers I have uncovered and labeled them. If anyone can help identify which each number represents, I would really appreciate it. And if it is not in this image, where could I locate it?

I believe those are all casting/part numbers. On the 232, 262, and 308 the serial number is near the front passenger side, upper corner of the block. Zoom into the top corner of the block in the attached picture and you can see it stamped into my 262. I suspect it will be similar in your case.

Thank you! That would make sense from what I have read. I'll have to check it once I'm ready to work more on the engine.

Thanks Ron! A little more wire brush uncovered a number 3 in the beginning of #3 making it 316010. That makes sense for a serial number to me. From a Super Six.

As Ron has said #3 is where your serial number is. I have a 212 in my 39 six and that is where the serial number is
