Locating a new fuse block

I bought a Ron Francis 12 circuit 6 volt replacement system (WR-54) My second problem was a good location for the fuse block. The typical left hand kickpanel doesn't look too promising. It's really crowded in there. What locations have folks used when rewiring with a fuse system. Thank you.

On some replacement harness the wires are long enough to mount the fuse block on the passenger side kick panel where there is a lot more room to work without the steering column in the way..

Firewall in front of driver(inside); left of steering column.
