When my Hornet was shipped to me the hood was not shut. I worked on the engine several times and then as I was closing everything for the day I shut the hood to check fit. I can not get the hood to release again. I have taken vice grips to the under dash release and can not get it to move. The grill is not in the car at this time. I still can not get the hood to release. Should I cut the cable and pull the inner portion to try and get the hood to release? I bought a new release cable I just don't want to damage things that are not needed. Thanks in advance for your help and advice.
Bernie, here's a discussion on the very subject, back in 2014. Be sure to catch Ken Ufheil's "illustrated" solution to your problem.
