I have a left rear fender for my 1949 Commodore 4 door sedan. It has never been on a car.
What do I coat the inside of the fender with, and how do I apply it?
Also, how do I prepare the outside of the fender to be painted later?
Any help will be much appreciated!

De-rust first if needed. Epoxy prime next. You can brush it on if you cant spray it. Let dry for a week, then scuff it with 180 grit then 400. Clean everything thouroly and spray urethane paint on top to seal everything and prevent rusting. Primer itself does not seal the surface. You don't need heavy coats. When ready for finish paint, clean, sand with 400 grit then repeat with 600. Paint and finish.
