Open the trunk lid, remove 2 fasteners and lift off emblem.
I old car is in the woods. I don't want to take my whole tool box and carry over the fence to get to the trunk emblem. What specific tools do I need? A screw driver ? a crescent wrench? a socket set ? a FLAME thrower ?? A little more information would save my knuckles and back, please
As Fred said, could be as easy as a pair of plyers to remove the two small bolts that are attaching the emblem through the trunk holes. Or if the trunk is locked or stuck closed it could take everything from a crowbar to a torch! I would be prepared for the worse. When you are dealing with old cars, that's usually the way it works.
thanks, understood.
Sorry Ryan, didn't realize it was a field car. Problem with 51 and newer is that trunk is usually locked!..Removing back seat for trunk access is a pain. Maybe lid is rusty or not worth saving. then crow bar/flat leaf spring or similar may help. Two screws sometimes phillips, sometimes 5/16 hex are usually found. Often are difficult to remove without breaking. Be careful
WD-40 or similar may help as well a a couple of firm taps with hammer. Work back and forth to avoid breaking.
Who’s OLD CAR is it? Could be considered stealing.
I am going with the owner to take off the parts I want. I want old crusty parts to go on my "artwork", see attached. Oh, my favorite number is 33. { before you have to ask}
I didn’t need the wd40. But had to crawl thru the back window and open the trunk's latch from the inside of the car. I got what I wanted and more for my project. Now I will hang my artwork
in my man cave.
