Hi,
Just wanted to check in and say Hi. I just got a 1930 Hudson Coupe, which is a great addition to my collection. It was sitting for a few years and he and my mechanic is working on getting it running. Having a hard time getting information on people who might have some parts; need carb stuff, the window crank for the rear window to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated, 'cause I can't wait to take it out!
Stu
Stuart, welcome to the wild and wonderful world of Hudsoning! Congratulations on your purchase.
This will be a good place to look for parts. May I also suggest that -- if you are not a member -- you join the Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club? More info is available under MEMBERSHIP at the homepage, http://www.hudsonclub.org/ . Most people on this forum are in the Club. As a club member you will have access to a list of the (roughly) 3,000 members and their cars, so you can find other "1930 pals". And you get the White Triangle News magazine, which is worth the price of admission alone!
I am going to move your message down to the "HUDSON" section of the Forum this evening, because you've placed it under Club & Forum Suggestions -- a place where few people would see it! But I wanted to give you a heads-up that it will be moving there, so you don't suddenly discover it gone, and think that we deleted you!
By the way, did you post a message at the AACA forum, looking for an interior window handle? You have a reply from someone in Kansas, and it looks like William Moon, who is an HET member and owns several 1920's-30's Hudsons. You might want to check that out.
Welcome Stuart to HET!
Lovely 1930 Hudson coupe you have 🙂
Do you have any other Hudson's or is this your first?
Christopher
Thanks for the responses!
Jon, thought I had this in the right place; still getting used to how the HET forum is set up. I'll double check the AACA site; it's been a bit crazy over the past month. Older son graduated from college, had to move him home then up to NYC to his apartment, had to get the cars ready for our cruise last night, and got a new driveway this past week.
Christopher,
Thanks for the nice words on the car. This is the only Hudson, which is the newest addition to our collection. We also have a 1963 Lincoln Continental (see site), a 1979 FIAT Spider, a 1957 TBird (pink, for wifey) and a 1928 Packard 526 Runabout. Wasn't looking for the Packard or Hudson, but found out a friend of mine was selling them so I made a deal for both last year. I'm the 4th owner of both cars and the second owner of the FIAT.
I was told that Eldon Hostetler in Shipshewana, IN and Carl Weber in Mass. might have some stuff. Anyone have contact information on them? Or, maybe someone could pass along my contact info to them.
Thanks again!
Hi Stuart
I too am a new owner and member of the HET. I have a 1930 Sedan. There is help out there, but it takes a while to find it. I will be happy to point you to the places I have found to be helpful.
I met Will Moon in Wichita earlier this month and found him VERY knowledgeable about our cars. We talked specifically about the interior handles and I think he is the guy to go to for them. I have had a hard time catching up with him since, but keep trying. He is probably in his shop!
The other person who I have found invaluable is Del Fast. Del is very accessible by phone or email and has found me several parts that I was told I would not be able to find. I have included contact information below. Please let me know if there is anything else you are looking for and I will see what I can help with.
Will Moon - 620-584-2098
Del Fast - 817-999-6070
Thanks for the info, Scott. Will left a message for me but didn't leave me a call back number. I'll give him a call. Will also try Del.
Stu
