Has anyone installed one of these radiators from ebay in their Stepdown? I'm looking at possibly installation in my 54.
On ebay: 1948 1949 1950 1951 1952 1953 HUDSON ALUMINUM RADIATOR WITH HOSES & CLAMPS
Thanks. Jason

This is the same as the one I have for my '50 eight. Car is still under restoration so I can't yet verify it's final usage, but it did install and fit well. Hood closes just fine. The only clearance issue is that I had to cut about 3/8" inch off of the stock fan, to allow some clearance to the top radiator hose. Not a deal-breaker, but a bit of a PITA.

I wasn't sure if the top neck was correct. Was the neck supposed to be on the left side?
And it look like the lower neck does not have the 90 degree angle.
???

Elaborate a bit, Ken. Tell us why it's "crap".

Discription reads radiator is a two row for that price. Just wondering, is two rows going to keep a 308 from overheating in 100 degree + weather? I have a 4 row aluminum radiator in my 52 hornet and runs just under 1/2 way on temp gauge when I was traveling in105 degree weather.

The info now is quite different than what it used to be. instead of the number of rows, it is all about the size of the fins and the ability for air to flow thru. They claim a 2 row aluminum with 1" fins cools 20-30% better than the old 3 row brass radiators.
I have a custom made 5 row brass radiator in a 53 Stude and frankly, it doesn't cool as good as the original 3 row, I would have to add two electric fans to be able to pull the air thru good enough. I am going to pull it and get a modern 2 row aluminum for replacement.
I just ordered a new 2 row aluminum radiator for a customer's 57 Golden Hawk.

The BTR radiator is based off a 53 Hornet sedan radiator I shipped to them for template.
