I have a 52 Hudson Wasp that when parked a pool of black oil appears at bottom of rear tire drivers side, it smells like gear oil but not sure, if anybody has an
idea what may cause this I would appreciate a response,

Arthur, it is very probable both inner and outer rear axle seals need to be replaced. While doing this, the right side brake drum should be removed, axle removed, cleaned, inspected and repacked. This procedure is described in the shop manual and should be done every 20,000 miles. Good time to inspect the brakes as well. Hope this helps.
